HLB ESSENTIAL Credit Card Revision effective 3 February 2025

Dear Valued Cardholders,
Effective 3 February 2025, there will be revision on the HLB Essential Credit Card features. The revisions will include:
- Earn unlimited cashback
- Revision of the cashback structure as per Table 1 below

*Note: “Eligible Transactions” mean the transactions set out in Table 1 above but shall EXCLUDE all Government, JomPAY and/or FPX transactions, Cash Advances, Quasi Cash (betting and gaming related transactions), Quick Cash (“QC”), Quick Cash One-Time Fee (“QC OTF”), Flexi Payment Plan (“FPP”), Balance Transfers (“BT”), Finance Charges, Late Charges, Annual Fee Payment and QR Pay Transactions made via HLB Connect App.

Q: How is the cashback calculated?
A: Below are two (2) scenarios of different customer spending in a statement month.
Scenario A: Customer spends more than RM3,000 in a statement month

Q: Are there any changes in annual fees?
A: No. The annual fees remain the same (RM100 for Principal Card, RM50 for Supplementary Card).
Q: What is the definition of retail shopping transactions?
A: Retail shopping transactions refers to the retail transactions performed at the clothing and accessories stores, and/or departmental stores etc.
Q: What is the definition of travel transactions?
A: Travel transactions refers to the transactions performed for hotels, travel agencies and/or airlines.
Q: When is the effective date for the changes?
A: 3 February 2025
Q: Any impact with the transactions performed before the new cashback structure effective date 3 February 2025?
A: No, eligible transactions performed before 3 February 2025 will continue to earn the existing cashback rate.
